
Cinema is Food, But People Are Starving​
Matatu Film Stage (MFS) is a bold Pan-African traveling film festival that takes African cinema to where the people are; cinemas, bibanda, matatus, community halls, and open spaces. Our 3rd Edition premieres in Kampala from October 4–10, 2025, before touring Uganda and across Africa.
We’re calling on passionate, energetic, and committed volunteers to join us in Driving African Stories Home.
Volunteer Requirements
To join the volunteer team, applicants should:

Age – Be at least 18 years old (youth & students encouraged).

Availability – Commit to the festival dates (October 4–10, 2025) and attend a mandatory orientation session in late September.

Passion – Have an interest in African cinema, arts, culture, or community work.

Team Spirit – Be reliable, respectful, and able to work well with others.

Communication – Have good interpersonal skills (English and Luganda required, other local languages a plus).

Flexibility – Be willing to adapt to different roles and dynamic festival environments.

Commitment – Uphold the festival’s values of inclusion, accessibility, and creativity.

Health & Energy – Be physically able to support event activities (some roles may involve standing, moving around, or assisting guests).
