3rd edition - Kampala
The Kampala Edition marked the flagship launch of the 3rd Edition of Matatu Film Stage; a week-long celebration of African cinema that brought together filmmakers, creatives, and audiences under one roof.
From October 4–10, 2025, Kampala came alive with daily film screenings, workshops, panel talks, and cultural showcases designed to reconnect people with African stories and make cinema accessible to all.
The festival reached both mainstream and grassroots audiences, screening films in city cinemas and five local video halls across Kampala’s divisions, turning ordinary spaces into vibrant community theaters.
